Bought in 1998 from GM dealership and installed in car
Driven locally only for 2 years when car was parked for 10 years
Motor was removed and stored when the correct motor was put in the car
been in our garage ever since.
Time to go.

This has been inspected by a machine shop.

It passed the pressure test.
All cylinders have been bored 0.060 over
Cylinders will need to be sleeved.
Date code is B16
It is a 4 bolt
It is bare and does not come with heads, crankshaft, etc. Purely, a bare block

Starter Motor Cover Band, Original. 29-55 GM 6V starters.

This is the metal band that covers the openings on the radiator end of the 6V starter.
Strap is 1-5/8″ width
It has the round head part of the rivet on the top side of the strap.
End tab is rounded.
Has a 1″ x 7/8″ size indention next to the attaching tab.
This band is also used on folding top hydraulic motors for 49-54 GM cars.

This is the metal band that covers the openings on the radiator end of the 6V starter.
Correct 1-1/4″ width
Has the round head part of the rivet on the generator side of the strap.
End tab is rounded.
We left the years of road grime on this strap so you could see, it is original.
This band is also used on folding top hydraulic motors for 49-54 GM cars.

This is the metal band that covers the openings on the radiator end of the 6V starter.
Correct 1-1/4″ width with the rivet heads on the outside of the strap (versus the rivet head being on the generator side).
End tab also has cut-outs.
These have been around for a long, long time, & have some surface scratches as well as some slight bends but; no crimps.
Once mounted, the bend will go away.
This band is also used on folding top hydraulic motors for 49-54 GM cars.
